- 01Our academic year is divided into four distinct terms to ensure consistent progress and ample time for mastery. Our terms are as follows: • Term 1: January to March • Term 2: April to June • Term 3: July to October (Note: For PSLE students, this term concludes at the end of September to align with their national examinations). • Term 4 (Short Term): November to December. This is a special 6-class bridge term designed to keep students' momentum going before the new year. You can download the latest Academic Calendar PDF directly from our website here (https://www.gramslearning.com.sg/compregram)
- 02For our Elementary, Intermediate, and Primary 1 & 2 levels, we conduct a brief reading assessment (usually 10 to 15 minutes, at no charge) to understand your child's current strengths. This ensures we place them in a class where they feel confident and can grow at the right pace, rather than just grouping them by age. You can still indicate your preferred timeslot and register your interest here while we get back to you subsequently to schedule a reading assessment: CompreGRAM Registration.(https://www.gramslearning.com.sg/compregram-registration)
- 03GooeyGRAM is where foundational literacy meets engagement! We focus on the "fun" in phonics—using multisensory techniques to help young learners (preschoolers) master letter sounds, blending, and word recognition through books and stories. It’s designed to spark a love for the English language before they even enter primary school.
- 04GooeyGRAM is the first step in our long-term language journey. Once students have mastered their phonics foundation, they typically progress seamlessly into our CompreGRAM English track, starting with the Elementary level, followed by Intermediate, and eventually Primary 1 & 2 levels. This ensures a consistent, familiar learning environment as they transition into more complex comprehension and writing.
- 05We have a No Homework Policy for all our classes. We believe that family time is precious and that the most effective learning happens under our expert guidance during class hours. While we don't assign homework, we strongly encourage students to explore books they love outside class. This "reading for pleasure" builds the deep comprehension skills we value at GRAM'S. We handle the hard parts here; you just enjoy a book with your child.
- 06We focus on comprehension, as it is the foundation of language mastery and carries the most weight in exams. By teaching children how to decode and understand texts deeply, they become naturally better at answering Paper 2 questions and finding inspiration for Paper 1 (Composition). Composition skills are periodically injected into our regular language classes. As students move up the levels, writing becomes more frequent and sophisticated to ensure they are fully prepared for upper primary requirements. We highly encourage parents to book a try-out class (pro-rated from the monthly fee for first-timers). - 071. A make-up class for the same level can be scheduled within the same week at the available alternative time slot (please call to inform us in advance) to ensure the continuity of the curriculum. Otherwise, worksheets for the class will be issued in the event of absence where the teacher will mark and return thereafter. 2. In the event that the class that the student intends to attend is full, worksheets for the class will be issued. 3. In NO event shall the fees be refunded or pro-rated if the student is unable to arrange for a make-up class. We also seek your understanding to refrain from arranging for make-up classes more than once a month and that these arrangement(s) are made with the objective of optimizing the students' class learning experience as a whole in mind. **Classes will go LIVE online at the same time slot via ZOOM in the event classes at the centre are suspended by authorities or due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. unsafe PSI readings from Haze) to ensure continuity of programme. There are no hybrid (having students both in class and online at the same time) classes at GRAM'S. Note In the event that the class is cancelled by GRAM'S with less than 24 hour notice, a make-up class for the same level can be rescheduled within the same month or term at the available timeslot(s).
